Actually baptised as Giacomo Antonio Domenico Michele Secondo Maria Puccini. However, all those middle names are bracketed in the New Grove, so are optional -and no-one knows them or would recognise them anyway! Besides, that's entirely too many names for one composer, no matter how good he was! See the entry for 'the other Puccini' for an explanation as to why the 'Secondo' is in there, though.
